What you need to know about permanet eyeliner

Permanent Eyeliner

Because of the very fast pace of life nowadays, more and more women are opting for permanent eye makeup. You need not worry about having to retouch your eye make-up all day long. You save the time and money that you will have otherwise spent on buying cosmetics and going to the beauty parlor. You also need not fret ever again about having those unsightly and embarrassing smudges around your eyes whenever it rains or you sweat or cry. With a permanent eyeliner, you become more poised and sure of yourself. You can swim, shower, go to the gym confident that your eyes will retain their contours even when they get wet.

How is a permanent eyeliner applied?

Basically, the process is like tattooing. However, this is done almost painlessly and safely. After discussing color shape, and thickness, a topical anesthetic gel will be applied to the eyelids. Next, using a special hollow, vibrating tattooing needle, and a digital machine, pigment will be placed into your skin, at the edge of the eyelid. Every time the tattooing needle penetrates your skin, a tiny droplet of pigment is released into the punctured area. The procedure takes anywhere between 1 1/2  to 2 1/1  hours to complete depending on whether you are doing both upper and lower eyelids and how thick you want it done.

After the permanent makeup procedure is done,

clients usually have to wait a few days for the color to fade down into the desired permanent shade. Initially, it may seem that the color looks dark and shiny as the surrounding tissue may be a little swollen and/or red. Typically, you will be advised to use a cold compress to reduce the swelling and to apply a thin layer of ointment to help prevent infection. In any event, your artist will give you a detailed customized step-by-step guide for your post-procedure home care.
